About Our Classes

Basic Manners Obedience Class

Obedience training gives you an opportunity to deepen your relationship with your dog and teaches them to be a better companion. Using a variety of techniques, your dog will learn to behave in many different situations. Your dog will also have an opportunity to socialize with other dogs and people. Our obedience techniques are taught using food rewards to achieve a positive first experience for your dog.

The Basic Manners class is a six-week session teaching obedience for everyday life. Sit, down, stay, no jumping and controlled walking are some of the skills we focus on. The exercises are done on a leash for maximum success.

Due to the limited size of the class, you may bring one family member to attend the class with you. Each weekly class is one hour.

My emphasis will be to teach you how to train your dog, providing you skills that you can tailor to meet training challenges long after the class session has ended. Each behavior is broken down into small steps to help you and your dog understand what is to be accomplished.  The Basic Manners Class is $150. Private Instruction is available by appointment.

AKC Competition Obedience Classes

Group classes are offered for those dog owners who want to further their dog training and possibly compete with their dog in obedience trials sponsored by the American Kennel Club. The novice class emphasizes the essential training commands needed to make a dog a good companion: heel on a loose leash, sit, stand, down, stay in position, and come when called. Competition Obedience classes are $175 for 8 weeks of class. Private Instruction is also available by appointment.

AKC Agility Lessons

Many people start agility classes to have fun with their dogs only to become lifelong competitors. Agility is designed to demonstrate a dog’s willingness to work with his handler in a variety of situations. It is an athletic event that requires conditioning, concentration, training, and teamwork.

Rick Pisani has trained with some of the top agility trainers in the country including Stacy Peardot-Goudy, Mary Ellen Barry, Rachel Sanders, Jen Pinder, Karen Holick, Jen Crank, Jennette Hutchinson, and Jessica Ajoux. Instruction is available to all dogs of different levels. Private instruction is offered by appointment.

Refund Policy: Due to the limited size of class there are NO refunds or credits for unused classes after orientation or the first class. If you have extenuating circumstances, such as yourself or the dog becoming severely ill, please contact us. We will work with you to issue a credit towards another session.
