Luke was a difficult young boy and we decided we needed some help. We completed the Basic Manner Class with Luke and it has worked wonders. Thanks so much! “ Doris Dunn and Larry Oehler 2/22/08 Hi, my name is Naya and I’m a rescue dog.  I was living on the streets in Louisiana when the people from Labs4rescue took me in.  I made the trip to New York in July 2007 and went to live with Nancy and Jake.  I’m a very sweet dog but I do have some issues.  Jake promptly enrolled us in Rick’s Basic Manners class.  I wanted to be good but I was a little mixed up.  Rick taught me (and Nancy and Jake!!) what to do in certain situations and we practiced and practiced.  He worked with us and got us all on the right track.  I keep hearing Nancy and Jake say that all of the advice he has given them has turned out to be great and right on target.  When I first started class, I was the only dog in the class who would not do the “down” command.  Rick showed us an alternative and I finally did that.  Now, I go into the down position the same way as all the other dogs and I’m able to hold the stay.  They thought I’d never do it and I showed them….all thanks to Rick’s good training and excellent advice.   Respectfully submitted, Naya Ivry Star Pupil 1/24/08  "I like Rick's respect for dogs and I feel he appreciates the various personalities of dogs in the class. "As I packed snacks for class I couldn't help a little laugh, I had made a "doggy Bag" for my boys' first day of class. The first day of class was both exciting and yet a little butterfly was flying around my stomach as I pondered thoughts of will my boys behave? Will they follow my commands or run crazy around the class. 

To my surprise my boys adapted very well to class. They were excited to return every week. Rick was always calm and patient. The dogs learned how to socialize properly with others (dogs and Humans) which make even walking around the block easier. Rick's wonderful class led me to continue to Canine Good Citizenship Class where advanced skills were learned.

I am proud to say my boys have furthered this knowledge and have passed the Therapy Dog Institute exam and will be working with special needs children. Thank you Rick for everything."
